THE 1996 BOSTON JR EAGLE FAMILIES

The 1996 Boston Jr Eagles raised close to $300 for Cystic Fibrosis a few weeks ago at their year end party. They have pledged the money to Jr Eagle 1997 Coach Steve Armstrong and his wife who are running the marathon to raise money for this worthy cause. Please email Coach Armstrong if you would like to take part and make a donation.

MIDGET PLAYER - JOE TIERNEY

All Eagle players could learn something by watching Eagle U19 player and Belmont Hill captain Joe Tierney. His coach, John McNamara compares Joe’s style to Peter Forsberg’s because he is not only skilled but also tough and extremely aggressive on the ice. In a recent game against the nationally ranked Belle Tire Midgets, Joe got hit from behind into the glass, breaking his nose and cutting his forehead.  With blood pouring down his face,  Joe left the ice to see a trainer who stopped the bleeding.  His team only had nine skaters so before a few minutes passed, he was back on the ice, scoring a goal to seal the victory for the Eagles. The next day, Joe came back with stitches in his forehead and the broken nose to take on the Texas Attack. Joe injured his shoulder while sticking up for his brother and teammate who had taken an illegal hit from the opposition. Joe will play hockey for Trinity College in the fall of 2008.
